Marc Planagumà

Marc, is a native of Olot (Catalonia) with degrees in Telecommunications from UPC. He is a prominent figure in data engineering and governance.  With a strong academic background, including directing and lecturing in UB IL3’s Data Engineering Master’s program, Marc has also led data platforms and engineering efforts at Zurich and LIDL companies.

Currently, he serves as the Data Platform & Governance Director at Adevinta Spain, where he has spearheaded the development and implementation of Lakehouse architecture and Data Mesh paradigm, focusing on scalability, autonomy, and effective governance by design. His approach to enhancing data quality and governance automation through strategic data contracts sets a benchmark for excellence in data engineering using the data products mindset.
